Our coffee shop has become a regular meeting point for many people who enjoy a warm welcome, a peaceful atmosphere and a friendly service. A joint venture between St Paul’s and Hampton Park Church it has been established for over ten years continues to be very popular.
The Tupsley coffee shop, located at Hampton Park Church, Hampton Dene Road, on Wednesday mornings, 10.00am-12.00pm, runs throughout the year with the help of dedicated teams of volunteers.
The community coffee shop serves coffee, tea, biscuits and a chat for over 60 customers on a regular basis. They are supported regularly with a cake stall run by the St Owens centre, a card stall, Tradecraft, a monthly visit from the Red Cross for Therapeutic Massage and the occasional visit from Age Concern. The drinks are a very reasonable price of £1, to cover running costs and donations to other charities. Last year donations were made to Christian Aid, Close House, Hereford Open Door, Hope Scott House Night Shelter.
The coffee shop also sponsors the very successful ‘Holiday at Home’, which is a mini holiday held at the church every year for our elderly members of the community.
Do not wait to be asked to come for a cupper, whatever your age. This is one place everyone in the community is welcome to every week of the year. Many a soul has been lifted by the cheerful faces found on a Wednesday morning!
